Since we’ve all been dreaming about the deliciously naughty ways that Christian will use the bondage rope he bought at Clayton’s, I thought I’d share an image of how to tie bondage rope in a Japanese method. It’s one of the best Japanese bondage rope how-to pics I’ve ever seen, and made even cuter by the fact it’s done in an anime bondage style. I must give thanks to Eros Blog, where I came across it for the very first time!

How To Tie Bondage Rope

The image above is click-able, so you can get the full view on how to tie bondage rope in a Shabiri style.

This is only one of many ways of using rope in your BDSM sessions, but it is one of the more popular methods, especially when it comes to BDSM porn and photography. It’s not one of those setups that restricts body movement, but it’s easily hidden under clothes, so it’s perfect for submissives who like to “wear” their fetish in public, even if it is under clothes. (We personally think this would be a great assignment or punishment for a particularly shy slave.)

What type of rope is best for bondage? It really depends on who you ask, but I prefer cotton bondage rope and hemp bondage rope that is specifically designed with fetish play in mind. Solid braid bondage rope is made from one woven unit and stays together better than those with a core. (Although most fetish rope with core, the cores are easily removed.)

One thing to keep in mind – while soft and silky bondage rope may feel great on the skin when not in use, the slipperiness of the rope can easily lead to rope burn if not used correctly. If you’re going for a pin-up girl look for your fetish photo shoot, your good ole fashioned cotton clothes line works a treat. For traditional Shibari, go with the hemp rope.
